Statement from the Greek Republic's government in exile

Dear friends,

Dear ex and current allies,

Dear opponents,

Been a long time since I last wrote an article in this newspaper but I think now it is a crucial time to make my return.

Time to discuss what has happened in Greece over the past few weeks and how the current corrupt and hawkish socialist government plans to destroy my nation with it's irresponsible and naive actions.

The Greek nation in eclesiar was born in the first days of the server with just a handful people struggling from day one to maintain our lands. Our first president, Xasapis ✝, managed to gather strong allies through diplomacy and managed to ensure the security of the nearly wiped out in the first 20 days Greek nation from hawkish invaders, although Turkey held on to Kavala, later passed on to Bulgaria for a months-long occupation. The end of WW1 found Greece with 5 of its 6 core provinces and a new inflow of people; that was when I also joined eclesiar. We made good progress over the next few weeks, sorted our economy and created a functioning community.

Not long after, the second world war in eclesiar broke out, a war that found us on the losing side. Constant battles and shortages of essentially everything left us by day 12something, when the NAP was singed, with no infrastructure and no materials, essentially wiped-out. But we didn't quit. Me and Panos, the third president, although having our differences in the beginning, cooperated and started from square one, along with all the other members of the Greek community, the long and painful rebuilding process of the nation that still had only 5 out of 6 core regions. Over the next 2-3 months things runned smoothly and Greece made the most of what we had. Created Q5 companies for strategic materials, created a material stock and re-built the infrastructure.

Sometime around day 190-200 we saw an inflow of a new kind of player(s) in the community. Players that came prepared to reduce to rubble, the peaceful climate we had built. From the first hours of their appearance in the discord server they started accusing the people that literally build and managed the nation for 190 days, of stealing, being corrupt and crooks. They insulted and threatened with the worst possible phrases, lifes, religions, all with the tolerance of the discord community admin that turned a blind eye to what was happening only because they decided to join the so-called "socialist" party and support it.

People that were active since the first days started leaving one after the other, either quitting the game entirely or going to other communities due to the toxic environment these 17-18 year olds (at the most) created in the community.

Ultimately, they managed to obtain the government and the presidency, (making proclamations that they defeated the stealers and even had the audacity to claim that they were starting from scratch on day 200+ after 3 months of peace and level 3 and 4 infrastructure almost everywhere (!)). That's when they started pouring out outrageous propagandist statements, even stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with the game and role-playing about socialism and it's success.

They even left the traditional allies of Greece that have been helping us since day 1 in eclesiar and made declarations of friendship and alliance with Bulgaria (!), the no.1 opponent of Greece for more than 200 days, that kept us under occupation just because they could, getting Kavala back in return (even though the Bulgarians wouldn't be able to hold Kavala anyways in the upcoming war).

We all know how this alliance ended for Greece, (?) with the eventual (a few days later) retirement of Bulgarian players from the game.

Now they made yet another naive error, attacking a country that hasn't declared war and bothered anyone since day 30, getting their ass handed to them once more by just 2-3 active players.

I plead with all my allies and friends to help us oust this propagandist and corrupt regime (that in reality has nothing to do even with socialism and is just a plain barbarian dictatorship of opportunists) and restore a democratic and efficient apparatus in Greek lands. I also ask of everyone to show mercy to my country and not to retaliate more than needed due to the actions of the current administration.

Lastly, I want to thank my Saudi friends that welcomed me in their community, a highly efficient and friendly community, a bright example of how it should be done. I promise to repay you for your kindness by helping out in any way I can.
