I was a flame that burned too bright,

a restless soul lost in the night.

I chased the wars I could not see,

now I just want to set me free.

I’ll leave the anger, leave the pain,

and find the peace I lost again.

I wore a crown made out of scars,

and hid my wounds beneath the stars.

I dreamed of being understood,

of being seen the way I should.

I’ll shed the hate that followed me,

and become who I was meant to be.
