How I Got Isekai’d and Lived to Tell It

It’s time I tell you all something I’ve kept hidden for years.

Only a few old friends know this — and even they thought I was just coping.

But the truth is...

I am not from the world of Eclesiar.

No, I wasn’t born here.

I didn’t sprout out of the sand holding a Q5 scimitar.

I was transported here.

Yes, this is my isekai story.

The world I came from?

It was ancient. Worn. Crowded. Laggy.

It was called…

eRepublik.

(Please don’t delete this article for saying that name. It’s historical context.)

I was born in eMalaysia, a quiet little land known mostly for being neutral, calm, and occasionally punched in the face by eIndonesia for old time’s sake.

I grew up in peace, and everyday internal political chaos.

But instead of following the crowd, I did what any underdog hero would do:

I joined the opposition.

In time, we, the ragtag band of idealists and overachievers, rose.

We toppled the long-standing ruling party.

I became Minister of Education & Welfare (yes, I was once pure and noble).

Things looked hopeful.

Until...

The old regime couldn’t handle losing.

So what did they do?

Some changed citizenship.

Some just quit entirely.

(But surely they didn’t accuse us of cheating just because they lost. That would be petty.)

With our population halved, evil stirred.

In desperation to increase our population, we opened our borders.

The eSerbs came.

At first, they blended in. Smiled. Shared nasi lemak recipes.

Then came the betrayal.

They tried to PTO us.

They used multies. Brute force. Endless settlers.

Did we cry?

No.

Did we quit?

No.

Did we accuse them of cheating and leave a 2-paragraph rage comment?

Absolutely not.

We fought back.

With grit, not scripts.

And eventually… we won.

But the Plot Twisted Again

Just as we were rebuilding, eRomania said, “Hold my tuică.”

Another PTO. Another war.

Another full year of blood, sweat, and forum spam.

But again, we prevailed.

Because that’s what you do when you believe in something.

You fight.

You endure.

You don’t whine about how the other side is “suspiciously good.”

But not all battles are fought with votes and swords.

A global recession hit.

My empire collapsed.

My 14 companies shut down.

I became penniless overnight.

One night, as I laid in my virtual bed with virtual bills and virtual depression, I made a wish,

“I wish I could enjoy a new world again... like I did before.”

And Then… Isekai

I awoke not in eMalaysia…

But in an oasis, in the middle of the desert.

Wearing robes. Feeling light. Possibly glitched.

A man approached.

Wearing a hat. With a cane. A twinkle in his eye.

“My name is Kisuke,” he said.

Odd name for a clearly not-Japanese guy. But hey, who am I to judge?

I told him everything.

He listened.

Then smiled.

“Come,” he said.

“Let me introduce you to the world of Eclesiar.”

So... What’s the Moral of the Story?

Sometimes life gives you battles you can’t win.

Sometimes your enemies use underhanded tactics.

Sometimes you lose — for months. Or years.

But if all you do is accuse, cry, and quit...

Maybe you’re not a warrior.

Maybe you’re just a spectator who doesn't like the scoreboard.
