6. Exploiting other players and being exploited is forbidden.

Did you read the rules before you started playing? No, me neither.

The first public pump and dump has happened, something that is illegal in the real world, but in Eclesiar, a risk you take when investing.

It would take me only a few clicks to empty everything The Atlas Group and it's investors have worked for in the past month in the game, something that would most likely ruin the gaming experience for countless players, and perhaps make them leave the game and never look back. I would walk away with over 1000g worth of assets, and I would get away with it (don't worry, my motivations are social before riches).

Two players are involved in this rug pull, it's unclear who the real culprit is without insight into the holding so I will not point fingers, rather explain the situation. Legiobr initially had the holding and sold shares while having several different companies in the holding to motivate its value. You can find all known businesses further below. Calheta bought up the company through unknown means:



Since then Calheta and/or Legiobr have sold off the companies on the Business Market for gold. Will any of this gold go to investors or is it all a scam?

"c. Receiving most properties (currencies, items, gold, companies) from another player, without any approximately equivalent transaction in return.

  d. The staff is not concerned whether the exploit is done by good will or not. The concerned player(s)/Military Unit(s)/Holding companies will be fined"

"14. The Eclesiar team does not take any responsibility for lost items, gold, currency, military units, holding companies etc. in the game that is lost."

 "b. Admin won’t return gold to players who get scammed."

According to Rule 6, investors as well as scammers, should be penalized in this scenario. This rule is of course written to make sure someone can't just plead that they are getting taken advantage of when they are in fact part of account boosting or something similar.

According to Rule 14, Admin however in fact doesn't take any responsibility for scams. Written of course in this way, to protect themselves from complaints.

These two rules contradict each other and what we see happening, is Admin seemingly ignoring rule 6 in favor of rule 14. It's understandable that they do not want to spend the resources to deal with every single scam in the game, and need to make decisions on what classify as a scam or not, but it sets a very dangerous precedent on how scammers are dealt with.

Now why is it that according to Rule 6; giving away things for free willingly is against the rules, but scamming, taking money from someone who doesn't realize what's happening, is fully allowed? Excused with "Investment is always a risk, we don't have rules saying you will be banned for that or fined."?

Eclesiar does in fact have rules saying you will be banned or fined for that;

 "d. The staff is not concerned whether the exploit is done by good will or not. The concerned player(s)/Military Unit(s)/Holding companies will be fined

  e. Repeat offences might lead to a permanent ban of the concerned Citizen(s)"


The safety of the average player has been my priority since start and I'm afraid we are heading in a dangerous direction. This is a desperate plead, we need a safety net for players to not get scammed before we start losing players to the actions of a few greedy individuals.
