π¦ Shark Hunt: First day update
Take part in the minievent here: https://app.eclesiar.com/pl/article/4997. Bellow there is a summary after first day
The hunt is nearing its first full day. Since launch at 18:00 UTC on Oct 17, 37 hunters have joined in. They have fired 155 shots and landed 14 of the 40 sharks. 27 predators are still out there, and 39% of the board (155 of 400 cells) has been searched.
π Latest Catch: Antiprigar
The newest hunter arrived this afternoon and made an instant splash. Antiprigar fired across row 10 (G10, F10, E10) at 14:30 UTC and landed the 14th shark at E10 in their very first volley.
π Current Standings
Nobody has a second shark yet. Ties go to whoever caught theirs first, so the prize zone hasn't changed:
kotvi: D7, 18:18 UTC (Oct 17)
Cedru: M17, 18:42 UTC (Oct 17)
Formless: P15, 21:40 UTC (Oct 17)
wi3: F1, 22:30 UTC (Oct 17)
Sternenlord: J12, 00:02 UTC (Oct 18)
Right behind them, also with one shark each: scj62964, Poa, Dzejkob, xXxDESTROxXx, wariat1986, Daortzk, Rumcajs and Antiprigar. The first hunter to land a second shark jumps straight to #1.
π₯ First Blood
Just 19 minutes after launch, kotvi landed a shark at D7, and nobody has knocked them off the top since.
π Night Owl: Sternenlord
The daily limit resets at midnight UTC. Sternenlord waited two and a half minutes after the reset and landed a shark at J12 right away. scj62964 (C3, 00:47) and Poa (M6, 01:17) were out hunting at that hour too.
π― First-Volley Snipers
These hunters landed a shark in their very first round of shots: kotvi, Cedru, Formless, wi3, Sternenlord, scj62964, Poa, Dzejkob, xXxDESTROxXx, wariat1986, Daortzk and Antiprigar. Rumcajs needed two days. Three misses on Oct 17, then a catch at R4 in round two.
π The Empty Nets Club
Krychu945, KamiLisu, Sosa Sosta, Nushid, mahmessiah, Slykre and Zhaturin have each fired 6 shots, the full limit for both days. Every one of them hit only water. The odds are on their side: a shark hides under roughly one in nine untouched cells.
π§ Old Battleship Habits
Some hunters kept firing around a shark after catching it, among them kotvi (D5βD8), Formless (P15βS15) and xXxDESTROxXx (L14βN14). In Shark Hunt every shark takes up a single cell, so those shots went into empty sea.
π Day vs Day
Oct 17 (only 6 hours of hunting): 74 shots, 4 sharks, 24 hunters
Oct 18 (so far): 81 shots, 9 sharks, 24 hunters
π Numbers So Far
Ocean-wide accuracy: 8.4% (14 catches from 155 shots)
Rush hour: 18:00β19:00 UTC on Oct 17, right after launch, with 44 shots
Longest silence: almost 4 hours, from 01:37 to 05:23 UTC
Most-targeted columns: A and R (12 shots each). Most-targeted rows: 2 and 14 (11 each)
Luckiest quarter of the board: north-west (AβJ, rows 1β10), with 5 sharks
The app rejected 17 shots. 10 came after the daily limit was used up (record holder KamiLisu, 3 tries) and 7 targeted cells that had already been shot (Poa and xXxDESTROxXx, 3 each)
Reminder: every hunter gets 3 misses per day (reset at midnight UTC), and a caught shark costs nothing. The top 5 win prizes. 27 sharks are still waiting. Good hunting!
