Eclesiar - where scamming is legal

I see no issue. Administration can't judge on every single player issue. Scamming is part of the game and basically every other game like this. This your first time?

The company has changed it's name to Black Market, for anyone interested. It's also changed investor rules to not show who is investing. I feel like a clear blacklist for certain players, companies, etc. should be made for scams/fraud/etc. Plus, for Eclesiar, gold has a rwt value, due to it being able to be bought via spins (briefly) or battle passes, so I think cases like this could be fraud, not just "business as usual".

In other news, why don't we open the most fair and transparent stock company ever! Plan couls be to scam accounts that use vpn's to log into the game. Its not multiing or boosting if you scam, so it is perfectly legal! Smart, eh?

I'd also like to point out that since I went public with the story, Calheta (the new CEO) started a sell of of other companies that were left on the holding as well as making the holding private. Admin's friend and strongest player on the server is openly scamming and publicly mocking shareholders, with admin's help. Nothing weird about that, right?

people in the comments seem to be confusing the stock market with cryptocurrencies. Scams and rugpulls are illegal in the real world, it's just the crypto-world where that is normal

I mean scamming is part of economics , corruption aswell , we should simply learn to make smarter decisions to avoid such cases.

issuing stocks will be mostly used by scammers, I even considered issuing some stocks to get a sucker or two because it is completely ok

I don't invest much in stock market tho, but every time I did, a little research was made. It may look good at the begining, but we need to have guarantees of the credibility of the company, IMO.
I heard it was a consent deal from the former CEO. In an investor POV, yes it sucks but you have two options, tho: Either sell your shares our just have faith they're going to do something good. If it was 100% guaranteed profit, I'd apply 90% of my wage every month lol

Ahh here goes another day in the office. One thing I will point out however is the answer of the Eclesiar account on the discord stating:
"It is part of the game ...in real life investing in stock has risks..." followed by "we want to keep the realism posture"... now having that has been said in mind... I just want to ask, why are my friends not able to work for 0.01? And I had to be taxed gold for retrieving my account?
Isn't the modern day slavery not still present in real life?
Kids in China make our iphones for peanuts and here my friend who received a very, very generous if I may add, sum of 0.01 BGN is not allowed to?
Jokes aside, Jasko has a point. It is a shady business. Rules as they can be very clear mostly, there is a decent enough grey area which MUST be addressed and it must be done so with the integrity of this community and it's product in mind.

It might be impossible to have a justice system because it needs a Judge. And a player as a judge is so hard to be trusted. In meantime I understand your frustration, but as I said it's a very gray matter I can't for sure say right now if they have to directly get involved with scammers or not. What if he not even steal the assets but never gave you back any ROI...? Or abandon holding? would that be considered scam then?

It's a complicated thing tbh. In real life you have judicial / justice system, but here it's very complicated to build that. And mods are justice system, but mods need to be careful when they want to get involved with game mechanics and avoid getting accused of things...
It's not a so black and white area, it's pure gray area. The risk that comes with the investment is what makes it interesting as well as dangerous. I think best is to think how a justice system could work in the game?

Support for Jasko, wtf are admin doing, saying that is normal in RL, yes you can invest in bad stock and lose money but if you are scamed that is not legal and someone could end up in jail in RL, but in this game scaming is ok and no punishment(!!??)

@jasko You're right, you cannot see transaction logs. So, why would you even buy stocks unless you trust the owner of the holding, for example, because that owner is your friend?

@Masaharu what due dilligence? We're playing a browser game that is only up for about a month, we cannot see any transactions, so what freaking due dilligence are you even talking about?
If there's no mechanism in place to protect from such rugpulls in a game where even boosting is banned for giving unfair advantage, why is stock market even a thing? Allow people to only create such a thing with friends instead of having publicly traded companies. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Since game made holdings game must also forbid in its mechanics such simple way ro scam and destroy other's gameplay. There shouldnt be interference from game staff once the mechanics are well built. Which is not the case. I support the writer of the article, this is outrageous

Reality is some people have certain ways of playing the game and they will stick to those patterns like always. The fact is that the scamming is legal and that is why I would buy shares only from people I trust (calheta and byebotu are the last people on that ranking).

Let's not pretend like it's normal to create a stock company, put some assets on it, gather investors just to pull it all out after a week... Even if we go by the logic of "it happens in rl, too", the staff have tools against it, if we ban boosting, scamming should be a bannable offense, too. If that isn't the case, do we really want to play a game that welcomes scammers as a viable way to play the game?!

i know how you feel, could had potentially happened to me, but its normal in the stock market world. I have to give a shout-out to ex-fellow shareholder Cykachu98 from the holding Golden Bird for buying me out when i wanted to retire. Time will tell who will be credible CEOs.
